World Owl Trust
World Owl Trust
The World Owl Trust works on owl conservation on a global scale, and we have members in many countries around the world.
Our conservation programmes protect populations of endangered owls until their habitat has been restored. This has already been achieved for the European Eagle Owl and British Barn Owl.
The Trust is a registered charity and relies heavily on the generous donations it receives from our members, supporters and visitors to the Centre. We also run a popular owl adoption scheme.
The Trust’s Owl Centre is based in the beautiful wooded gardens of historic Muncaster Castle and every year we welcome over 70,000 visitors to see one of the most comprehensive owl collections in existence.
Here you will see over 200 owls from over 50 different species and sub-species (some not commonly found in other collections) ranging from the biggest owl in the world - the European Eagle Owl - to the tiny Pygmy and Scops Owls.
You can ‘Meet the Birds’ at a daily event at the Centre between March and November and is the main highlight for most visitors.
Please note that the World Owl Trust and the World Owl Centre will be leaving Muncaster from 6th May 2015. Further details on our new home will follow as soon as they are available.
