Pupil and Teacher Allegedly Assaulted on School Trip in London

A teacher and pupil from Ardrossan Academy in Ayrshire were allegedly assaulted on a school trip in London by an unknown woman.

Police officers were called to the Wembley International Hotel, shortly after midnight on Saturday, June 15, following reports of an incident.

It was reported that a woman entered the hotel uninvited where she allegedly assaulted a 16 year old male pupil and a 44-year-old female teacher, who was left with bald patches on her head following the violent attack.

The woman was later arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

The police statement read: “Police were called at around 12.30am on Saturday, June 15 to Empire Way, Wembley. Officers were informed that a 25-year-old woman had assaulted a 16-year-old male and a 44-year-old woman.

She was arrested by officers at the scene on suspicion of common assault and actual bodily harm.

She was also arrested for assaulting a police officer during the arrest.

She was taken to a North London Police Station and subsequently released under investigation.”

A spokesperson for the school said “We can confirm there was an incident which required the attendance of police however we cannot comment on the specifics as we understand this may be the subject of an ongoing inquiry.

We would wish to commend the behaviour of the teachers and pupils at Ardrossan Academy who, although shaken by the incident, are fine and continued their trip as planned.”
