Schoolboy Climbed into Cheetah Enclosure in Front of Classmates

A Sixteen-year-old boy had a lucky escape as he scaled the walls of a cheetah enclosure on a school trip in Germany.  He was visiting the zoo in Erfurt, central Germany with classmates when the student suddenly climbed the fence of the cage and walked towards the large cats as the crowd and his teachers watched in disbelief. He came extremely close to the cheetahs, reportedly getting within 10 meters of the animals, before backing out and making a swift exit from the enclosure, sustaining no injuries. According to media sources, it remains in question as to what really possessed the teenager to leap into a cage full of cheetahs, however, people have speculated that it could have been part of a dare or a show of courage to the other children. Nonetheless police were called and are now currently investigating the case and have said that the sixteen-year-old boy could be facing trespassing charges.

It is said that this incident may have been inspired by Myan Autry in New York City who also decided to climb into a lion enclosure in September two months previous to the teenage boy’s antics. Myan told NBC New York “that’s why he came to me and I let the lion know: Lion, I love you.”. She also expressed to the media that she now identifies as one of the big cats and she fears no animal nor human.
