Two members of staff at a Kent secondary school have been investigated by police in connection with claims of sexual activity with pupils.
It is understood that the male teachers were suspended in December 2014 as a result of the accusations made in relation to an incident during an educational trip.
Police confirmed they have looked into the issue, but the matter is now being handled internally by the school. A police spokesman said: “No criminal offences are believed to have been committed.”
The Head Teacher of the school, which is within the Tonbridge and Malling borough, chose not to respond directly to questions about the incident and instead referred the matter to Kent County Council which was quick to point out reporting restrictions protecting teachers from being identified.
Under the 2011 Education Act, is it against the law to name a teacher accused of committing a criminal offence. They can only be named if they are charged or if a court lifts restrictions.
