Teenage Boy Spiked with Viagra by Fellow Pupil During School Trip

A 15-year-old boy was spiked with Viagra by another pupil while on a class trip to Berlin, Germany. The 16-year-old who was responsible received a two-day suspension, but the father of the victim has criticised this as an inadequate punishment for what is a criminal offence.

£1.6 Million Heritage Schools Programme Will Benefit 120,000 Pupils

The Department of Education has invested £1.6 million into Historic England’s Heritage Schools Programme, meaning the scheme will be able to continue for another two years.
Heritage Schools has already enabled half a million children to take part in range of exciting projects and activities including creating local heritage films, community exhibitions and some have even campaigned to have their local war memorial included on the National Heritage List for England.
Nine-year-old Girl Sneaks onto School Trip to Wales

Nine-year-old L’evea Aitchinson, who is a Year 5 pupil at New Moston Primary School in Manchester, managed to sneak onto a school trip and make it almost half way to north Wales before teachers noticed that she was there.
L’evea changed out of her uniform into her own clothes, which she had hidden in her school bag, and joined her classmates on the coach for the school’s two- night trip to Kingswood residential centre in Mold. It wasn’t until the party were on the M56 to Cheshire that the teachers back at the school realised that L’evea was missing.
Teachers and Parents Warned to Check School Trips are ATOL Protected

Schools have been urged to book ATOL-protected trips to avoid parents being left out of pocket if their travel company fails.
The Civil Aviation Authority are encouraging teachers and parents to check that any upcoming school trips involving air travel are fully covered under the ATOL scheme.
This new advice has stemmed from a situation arising earlier this year that involved parents being left with bills of £750 per child after their school’s chosen tour provider collapsed and did not have ATOL-protection.
