Association for Physical Education (afPE)

The Association for Physical Education (afPE) is the only physical education subject association in the UK. 

We are a members organisation committed to being the representative organisation of choice for people and organisations delivering or supporting the delivery of physical education in schools and in the wider community. 

Our purpose is to promote and maintain high standards and safe practice in all aspects and at all levels of physical education, influencing developments in physical education at national and local levels. 

As the subject association for physical education we provide quality assured membership services and resources, and valuable professional support for members and the teaching profession through a range of high quality professional development opportunities, regular updates, member journals, advice, insurance cover and dedicated helplines for health & safety and legal advice.

We support trips, activities and initiatives such the Sport England This Girl Can campaign. We lobby government, provide support for our members and organise CPD training.

The afPE office is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm - Monday to Friday.

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
