The RNLI is the UK's national charitable organisation which equips and trains lifeboatmen and women to effect rescue operations from coastal waters. Every year they save over 400 lives and they have educated almost 500,000 children in water safety.
Last year, RNLI lifeguards came to the rescue of over 7,900 children on UK beaches, so this year they have launched a national campaign to educate children in how to be safe on beaches. Entitled 'Beach Smart', the campaign focusses on making students aware of all aspects of being on a beach, including undercurrents, cliffs and being cut off by the tide. The pack is full of top tips for teachers and parents and includes a wave guide for the children, together with animated stickers to attach to bodyboards and beach bags.

The RNLI depends on donations to keep their lifeguards ready to rescue anyone in distress. Help them reach their £50,000 national target so they can make your students safe when you are visiting beaches and coastlines.
