Awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, the LOtC Quality Badge is a national award combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into ONE easily recognisable and trusted accreditation scheme for ALL types of Learning Outside the Classroom provider organisation. The LOtC Site Provider Award

The LOtC Site Provider Award is intended to recognise those organisations which actively welcome schools onto their sites and ensure that those sites and any other services provided meet the needs of schools. The LOtC Resource Provider Award is intended to recognise those organisations that provide products and services which genuinely assist teachers in delivering LOtC, and work with users to ensure that this is the case. For Schools

The LOtC Mark is the first national accreditation for schools which recognises and supports the development of Learning Outside the Classroom across all subject areas. Comprising of three levels, the LOtC Mark is intended not only to recognise existing exemplary provision, but also to assist and support schools in developing their LOtC offer. Enjoy the wonderful settings of our sites based in Moray in the Scottish Highlands, school groups are welcomed to experience the stunning rivers, lochs and coastline of  our corner of Scotland.

Experience inflatable kayaking or canoeing on the River Spey which flows through the heart of Moray and Speyside for your introduction to quiet and moving water with fun rapids.

The Council has had an outdoor education service on Arran for nearly 50 years. The development of the service over that time has ensured that it has its own unique atmosphere and ethos - one that all who attend can learn to value regardless of age and background. Most cherish the experience and atmosphere of the centre and for many it lives with them for the rest of their lives.

Have a go at the ancient sport of archery. Go afloat in a kayak or an open canoe. Join one of our coastal scrambles along the Chain Walk, or sample abseiling from our purpose-built tower. Head off to explore the East Neuk on our mountain bikes, or have a peaceful game of putting, while the kids enjoy our bouncy castle.

Fordell Firs is one of the three National Scout Activity Centres situated throughout Scotland, the other two are Lochgoilhead and Meggernie. The centre covers 48 acres, consisting of camping areas, woods, rocky outcrops and a few cliffs.

The sandy curve of Elie Bay encloses a wonderful expanse of sheltered water, making it the finest setting for beginners on Scotland's East Coast. Beyond the bay, the open sea offers a challenge to the more proficient participant.

A farm in the heart of the city!

Tucked away in London’s East End is a working farm, Rural Arts Centre and community meeting place. We give children and adults a chance to meet farm animals, learn how to grow food and try out arts and crafts.

The Farm is free to all visitors and everyone is welcome!

Rock UK Frontier Centre is a 120 acre rural venue in a beautiful location at Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire, yet only 90 minutes drive from London and Birmingham. It has 9 separate self-contained accommodations sleeping up to 234 people.

A Birmingham-based activity centre, right in the heart of England. With over 75 acres of reclaimed semi rural land with facilities such as our  100m dry ski slope, archery courses, events tower, team building area, jungle challenge course, climbing walls, residential centre and adventure trek.

Edgbaston Watersports is a unique, fully equipped water sports activity centre open to a wide range of customers all year around. Here at Edgbaston Watersports we understand the importance of meeting our customers needs from School Trips, Educational Programmes, GCSE PE & BTEC Programmes, Enrichment Days,

Selly Manor is a museum steeped in history, in one of Birmingham's oldest buildings. Dating back to the 1300s, in 1907, busy establishing his vision of a Bournville village, local chocolate maker and philanthropist, George Cadbury, saved it from demolition and employed architect William Alexander Harvey to oversee its relocation, to Bournville Green.

Bartley Outdoor Pursuits Centre is a brand new initiative by Bartley Sailing Club with a mission to provide high quality outdoor activities to Schools, Youth Groups, Further Education and adults. Bartley Sailing Club is situated on Bartley Reservoir on the south-western outskirts of Birmingham.

The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is the busiest and seventh-largest exhibition centre in Europe. It is near junction 6 of the M42 motorway and is adjacent to Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International railway station It has 20 interconnected halls, set in grounds of 611 acres (2.54 km2) making it the largest exhibition centre in the UK.

We are one of only a few clubs in the UK that offers every day opening (except Christmas Day) with full safety cover from professional safety staff. Draycote Water is a superb venue for sailors and windsurfers of all abilities.

Blackwell Adventure is a unique, fully equipped outdoor activity centre available to a wide range of customers. We boast 50 acres of beautiful parkland and are superbly located within five minutes of the M42 and M5. Our residential, camping and adventure facilities are amongst the best in the midlands and are used by over 25,000 people per year.

 

Pioneer Centre is the UK's premier recognised specialist venue for superb outdoor activity residentials and holidays and conferences for groups.

Schoolboy Falls From 60ft Cliff on School Trip

A 15-year-old boy fell 60ft over the edge of a cliff whilst on a geography school trip, miraculously only suffering minor injuries.
