Llandudno

Llandudno

To its credit Llandudno has remained largely unchanged for the last century. The picturesque area was the inspiration for the novel Alice in Wonderland. Llandudno boasts many exciting attractions including art galleries, a local museum and even a dry ski slope. In the surrounding Welsh Marches can be found fantastic examples of Edward I's castles, built to subdue the Welsh princes - Chirk Castle being the most complete. You can also travel along the longest aqueduct in the UK - the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, built by Thomas Telford and still a marvel of the Industrial Revolution.  Erddig is one of Britain's finest stately homes, while the Wrexham County Museum and Archives is home to exhibitions and information about the entire area of north Wales.
