Physical Education

Physical Education teachers spend their working lives taking groups to play matches, participate in athletic competitions, and on outdoor walking and climbing activities. There would appear to be little time for any extra visits, and yet P.E. staff find time to take groups to a variety of venues.

Visits by P.E. and Games teachers are, of course, mainly to sporting venues – either as participants or spectators. Some venues are iconic, such as Wembley, Cardiff Arms Park, Lord's, Twickenham or Old Trafford, but the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum has its adherents, as do the British Golf Museum at St Andrews, the National Football Museum in Manchester and the Olympic Park, London.

But for something a bit different some schools visit the National Clay Shooting Centre at Woking, the National Motorcycle Museum just off junction 6 of the M42, the National Badminton Museum in Milton Keynes, or the Archery Museum at the University of Manchester, or the various sailing centres around our coast.

Prince's Trust centres currently offer the Fairbridge programme, which is an individually tailored personal development programme combining one-to-one support and group activities.

Originally Fairbridge in Dundee, we became part of The Prince's Trust in 2011.

We work with young people from across Dundee city.

Datchet Water Sailing Club is a modern club set on a large inland reservoir providing a complete package for every type of sailor. It is set with magnificent views overlooking Windsor Castle.

At the heart of Lydiard Park is Lydiard House – a striking Grade I listed Palladian house that for 500 years was home to the St John family.  The ground floor state apartments of Lydiard House have been beautifully restored and are open to visitors all year round to view the ornate plasterwork and original family furnishings displayed alongside portraits and photographs of the St John family.

Northern Ireland's National Outdoor Centre

Tollymore National Outdoor Centre offers a range of one day and weekend courses in rock climbing skills, learning to lead and multi pitch climbing, Canadian canoeing, kayaking and sea kayaking, mountain biking, orienteering and coasteering.

Ward Freman Pool is set in the town of Buntingford, Hertfordshire and provides the local community with a range of water based activities.

Offering a range of water based activities including our award winning swim school, Swim 4 Fitness, Swim 4 All and fitness classes such as Aqua Fit, there is always something going on in the water at Ward Freman Pool.

Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, CLAS, situated 2 miles outside Antrim town, is the only horse welfare charity based in N.Ireland. A unique range of horse riding lessons and experiences, including equine massage is on offer.

Northern Ireland’s first indoor Ski and Adventure Centre, We Are Vertigo, is based at Newtownbreda Industrial Estate. 

The centre offers exciting experiences for people of all ages and abilities to try out or brush up on their skiing skills as well as experience extreme fun.

Set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District, our outdoor activity centre provides a wide range of outdoor challenges and experiences such as bushcraft, orienteering, climbing, camping  and navigation skills as well as kayaking, canoeing, trekking and mountaineering

The Dell Stadium is Dudley council's premier outdoor sports venue. It boasts a range of facilities that can accommodate local and regional events.

Our team of friendly professionals prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere and providing programmes tailored to meet your needs.

The course is a 9 hole parkland par 28 and is well known locally for its tight fairways and lovely views looking towards the centre of London. It has a thriving friendly membership of around 100 who have regular weekly competitions

With beautiful flowerbeds, lakes, pools and a wonderful collection of trees, it's easy to see why. There's plenty of opportunity for exercise at the park's tennis courts, bowling and putting greens and wildlife enthusiasts can follow the walkways and cycle routes alongside the River Rea.

Haden Hill Park is an historical Victorian landscape with a Victorian Mansion and Tudor Hall. The landscape offers stunning views of the surrounding area. The park is a popular venue for historical local events and environmental activities. It has childrens play areas, bowling greens, ornamental lakes and formal garden areas.

A riding school offering lots of horse riding opportunities. On pony days you spend the day learning to look after our ponies and have fun with your riding. You can also celebrate your birthday here at our cafe with a riding party for all of your friends.

Established in 1980 Britain’s most experienced summer holiday operator for children and teenagers aged 3-17 years. With a host of exciting and adventurous activities to choose from.

Welcome to Tower Wood Outdoor Education Centre which is set in 12 magnificent acres of lawns and woodland, extending from the beautiful Edwardian house down to the eastern shore of Windermere. The site looks across the Lake to the high fells of the Lake District and has an enviable and easily accessible position.

Close to the shore of Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Great Tower Scout Activity Centre is an ideal base for exploring this famous area. Set in 250 acres, the centre offers both sizeable woodland to explore as well as natural rocky crags for climbing.
