Schoolboy Assaulted on School trip to Edinburgh

A 16 year old schoolboy was subjected to racist abuse while on a school trip to Edinburgh last month.

Police have released CCTV of a man they want to speak to, in connection with the incident, which took place in Montgomery Street, Leith, on 25h April at approximately 11.am.                                                                  

Initially, the abuse was targeted at a group of teenagers who were on a school trip to the city. One 16 year old boy was singled out and assaulted, resulting in what were described as 'painful' injuries.

To commemorate its tenth anniversary, The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) has released a further five school trips to be won in a competition on their website

Schools have up until 5pm on Wednesday, 3rd July, for a chance to win a trip for up to 30 students. Each prize has been donated by CLOtC Quality Badge providers and there are more to to be announced throughout the year.

Ely Couple Face Jail Over Term Time School Holiday

The unnamed parents who live near Ely in Cambridgeshire, took their child out of school for a third holiday in term time and have been told they’ll get prison time if they do it again.

The couple were ordered to appear before magistrates, after removing their child from school and have already racked up fines totaling nearly £2,200 for two breaches of the rules regarding term time absences.
