Theme Parks

Theme Parks

What are they and what do they involve?

Theme parks are collections of rides and other entertainment attractions for the amusement of visitors, and are generally quite large venues! They generally involve riding on rollercoasters and other kinds of rides, but can also include taking things slower and staying on the ground with things such as adventure playgrounds and nature trails.

What are the benefits?

A theme park is generally a lot of fun, and can be an excellent treat for your pupils! Student groups that visit theme parks will always bond over the experience, and these venues are great opportunities for maturing children to test their limits in a safe way by getting their adrenaline pumping on some exciting rides.

What students is it suitable for?

A lot of the bigger theme park rides will have height restrictions upon them for safety, so younger students may not be able to ride everything available in the park. Younger students may also not enjoy the physical sensations of rollercoasters and other rides as much as more confident older groups, so be aware of this when considering a theme park as a possible school trip.

Costs?

Entry fees to theme parks are reasonably expensive, with the most expensive sometimes running over £30 per person. However, there are often discounts and deals for school trips, so make sure to do your research before booking.

Safety Implications?

You should exercise extreme caution with any student with an unpredictable medical condition in theme parks, as the forces exerted upon the body could have negative health effects upon those already vulnerable! Also, theme parks are often large, busy places, so make sure your student group is adequately supervised and it would be wise to pre arrange a meeting place in case of someone being separated, and if the students are of the age that they have mobile phones, giving them a number of one of the adults in the group would be sensible.
