Theatres, Music and Performing Arts Venues

Theatres, Music and Performing Arts Venues

What are they and what do they involve?

These types of venues all revolve around drama and performing, and provide opportunities for students to see professionals at work and to try their hand at the activity themselves. A visit to a performing arts venue can either involve being a viewer or a participant, with both roles fun in their own ways!

What are the benefits?

Dramatic performing is a great way to build up a student’s confidence, especially as part of a group – being able to practice confident speaking in a more relaxed surrounding will be hugely beneficial, especially for shyer students! Watching a skilled performance in a venue such as these can also be hugely inspiring for those with interests in the area; seeing what is possible with dedicated hard work is always great for motivation.

What students is it suitable for?

The varying nature of performances means that you’ll be able to find one suitable for all age groups! Venues often have special shows for younger audiences, so make sure to check out exactly what is available.

Costs?

Tickets to a performance can vary from very cheap to reasonably expensive depending on the nature of the show so it’s important to research prices of appropriate events before booking! Costs of workshops and other activities will also differ a lot between venues.

Safety Implications?

Performing arts venues are generally reasonably safe, but can be quite large and confusing to navigate; make sure your group is properly supervised at all times!
