Climate/Seasons: Generally very cold and windy, with maximum temperatures around 6°C in the summer November - February period.

How to Get There: The main access to the islands is via boats from places such as the Falkland Islands - make sure to check itineraries and always book in advance.

Watch Out For: Some weather risks with the cold Antarctic climate, and you need to apply for a visitor permit in advance of your visit to go to the area. 

Medical Issues: There aren't any mandatory vaccines or boosters for visiting South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands, but always check with a doctor before major trips.
