Music Tuition

Music Tuition

What is it?

Music is incredibly varied in style and form, and is something you can find occurring throughout history. With its basis in sound, music is overwhelmingly one of the most popular art forms in the world and it is enjoyed by everyone in some shape or form.

What does it involve?

Musical tuition involves aspects such as learning the theory and history of, experiencing and playing music; the specifics will change wherever you go, but the basics remain the same!

Why do it and what are the benefits?

Being able to play music is proven to have a multitude of benefits, from improving coordination and organisation to actually increasing memory capacity. One of the main attractions towards music is the universal pleasure found in it - almost everybody enjoys music in one way or another!

What equipment do we need?

If being taught how to play, students may need to supply the instrument in question for use during lessons. Some establishments will have instruments you can hire/borrow, so the best thing you can do when considering any music tuition for students will be to make clear with the establishment what the set up is.

Who is it suitable for?

Music tuition is suitable for all ages! Children can start learning about music and how to play instruments when they are very young, and it can develop into a lifelong passion and even a career for many people.

Costs?

Depending on what sort of musical tuition you are considering, the costs will vary. One on one regular tuition will cost more in the long run, but more general music tuition such as learning about historical instruments will have different pricing.

Issues/Things to think about? (unsuitable for age groups, medical conditions etc)

The varying sizes and difficulties of instruments may make it physically hard for individuals to play e.g. a full size cello is very large, and a young student may not be able to operate it. Make sure to cater for the needs of your group!

How do we include?

Physical/learning difficulties may make certain instruments hard to learn how to play for some people, but in general, music is a great thing to include everybody in as there's a type of tuition out there for everybody!

Doing it abroad?

Musical styles and traditions vary all over the world, so learning about the music in foreign countries can be fascinating to see the differences in popular instruments and techniques!
