Equestrian Activities

Equestrian Activities

What are they and what do they involve?

Equestrian activities involve horses or donkeys, and revolve around learning how to ride them! Venues that provide riding lessons may also have courses you can ride the horse around and other extras; the activities will vary between establishments.

What are the benefits?

Interacting with animals has many great benefits, but horses in particular are great for really connecting with. Learning how to ride them correctly can give students a huge confidence boost and improve their general posture and fitness while improving their respect for animals.

What students is it suitable for?

You can begin horse-riding lessons from a very young age; equestrian activities will be great for all kinds of students, including those with disabilities!

Costs?

Equestrian activities are reasonably cheap when it comes to taster sessions, but extended courses of lessons will be more expensive; make sure the venue and activity you book gives you good value for money and that the students have a high level of interest!

Safety Implications?

Some horses can be easily spooked and therefore liable to lash out, so it’s important that students behave properly around them; horses are extremely powerful animals that can do a lot of damage when scared and should be properly respected!
