Edinburgh
Rich in architectural heritage and now a UNESCO World Heritage site, Edinburgh has plenty to offer as a destination for your next school trip. Edinburgh Castle dominates the sky line and is home to the annual Edinburgh Tattoo, part of the world famous Edinburgh Festival and the equally famous fringe festival, featuring comedy, dance and drama from all over the globe.
The Scottish Parliament and Holyroodhouse are two of Edinburgh's main attractions and both provide fantastic opportunities for school trips, as do the National Archives of Scotland, Edinburgh Zoo and its famous pandas.
The city is full of museums dedicated to Scottish history including, for the study of Science, the Anatomical Museum, housing the infamous Burke and Hare's artefacts, the City Art Centre, the National Archery Museum and the mystery of the old city, now lost beneath the streets of modern Edinburgh, or Gilmerton Cove, hewn by hand to house the mysterious Hellfire Club in the 18th century.
