The city of Glasgow is an architectural dream with countless Victorian structures and masterpieces by the world renowned Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The most famous of his works is the House for an Art Lover which is open to the public.

There are plenty of subject specific attractions to keep you busy in the city. Students interested in studying art can visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery or the Gallery of Modern Art. Religion plays a huge part in the city and can be studied at Glasgow Cathedral and St Mungo's Museum. The Hunterian Museum, People's Palace and Scottish Football Museum also reveal much about Scotland's history and character. Scientists will enjoy the Glasgow Science Centre.

The Calderglen Children's Zoo is always a joy and informative, while a forgotten gem is the David Livingstone Museum, where students can learn about this most intrepid of explorers.

If you are looking for adventure then Loch Lomond is a mere twenty minutes away, where you will find the Loch Lomond Seaquarium.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
