Scotland South

The south of Scotland is a scenic area filled with rolling hills, but is also home to Scotland's two major cities, the capital Edinburgh and Glasgow, host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Both have ample history and museums to provide learning activities on trips for students.

Edinburgh Castle (above), arguably Scotland’s most famous landmark is also open to the public all year round, while you can visit the world famous festival and fringe each August either to watch music, comedy, theatre or street performers - or to perform yourself!

Outside the conurbations, it is also the ideal place to take part in trekking, or see wildlife in the countryside or visit some of the many museums or landmarks in either city.

There are also many quaint, historic towns for you to explore with local museums that allow you to delve into the rich history of southern Scotland.
