Heritage plays a huge part in Hereford’s aesthetic, with castles, its beautiful Cathedral, stately homes and several museums. The Herefordshire countryside is one of rolling hills, nature and beauty and lends itself to Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, the study of nature and science. Students can learn more about these at the Herefordshire Nature Trust, while more excitable youngsters can try their hands at technology by preparing and racing bikes at the Herefordshire Raceway.

Hereford is also home to the largest cider making factory in the world; the Bulmer’s factory and Cider Museum also contains the largest vat in the world which can hold an incredible 15 million gallons of cider.

As the area sits on the border with Wales it is pocked by great castles such as Eastnor Castle and Goodrich Castle, which offer fantastic learning opportunities about very different eras for students of history.

Hereford Cathedral

Welcome to Hereford Cathedral. This beautiful building is the home of a community which has worshipped and worked together here continuously for well over 1200 years.

It is a place where the mission of the church to proclaim Christ's love is central, and therefore the community has always warmly welcomed visitors. We all hope that you enjoy your visit.

An indoor pottery studio where you learn how to make things from clay. Try the art of the potterâs wheel. Model your favourite animal or figure. Create a mug, bowl or vase. 100âs of exciting projects and pottery making techniques. Creative, fun and suitable for all ages and abilities.

Educational projects for schools and early years are also available.

Milk a cow by hand; take part in their Animal Feeding Tour; watch the machine milking; Visit Mini Farm World, Pets' Corner and the Play Area; follow the Farm Trail; take a trailer ride around the farm; and admire the panoramic views across four counties!

Edvin Loach Old Church

The ruins of an 11th century and later church built within the earthworks of a Norman motte and bailey castle, with a Victorian church nearby.

The curious name of this place originates in the late 11th century, when the district of Yedeven was divided between the Loges and Ralph families, hence the present names of the parishes of Edvin Loach and Edvin Ralph.

Herefordshire Nature Trust

Herefordshire is often described as England's most rural county, with a rich mosaic landscape of small fields, ancient hedgerows and wooded hills.

From the Black Mountains in the west to the Malvern Hills in the east and the majestic sweep of the Wye Valley, the county embodies the finer characteristics of a rapidly vanishing traditional landscape.

Broomy Hill Miniature Railway

Ride our extensive twin track Miniature Railway supporting all gauges and boasting a fleet of cute miniature locomotives! Broomy Hill Station has a great hands on railway for the kids to play with and a museum too.

Entirely hand built by a local society since 1962, the Broomy Hill Miniature Railway is a charming treat for your little trainspotters, provided you can find an open day!

Waterworks Museum

Trace the history of drinking water, from the time of cave dwellers to present day, through a number of great displays and wonderful working engines. A number of Open Days in Steam throughout the year.

Based in a Victorian pumping station that served Hereford for 120 years, the museum tells the story of drinking water throughout the ages through a number of high quality displays.

Wye Valley Warfare Laser Ops

Exciting laser tag in Wye Valley. Mission Alpha is great for families and friends to play, and Mission Bravo can be booked for groups. Also offer cadet training. Suitable for kids aged 8 years and older.

Goodrich Castle

Goodrich boasts one of the most complete sets of medieval domestic buildings surviving in any English castle.

Goodrich stands majestically on a wooded hill commanding the passage of the River Wye into the picturesque valley of Symonds Yat. The castle was begun in the late 11th century, by the English landowner Godric who gave it his name.

Arthur's Stone
