The Isle of Wight is the largest island in England, and lies just off the southern coast close to Southampton and Portsmouth. Whilst well known for hosting major music events such as Bestival and the Isle of Wight Festival, there are many smaller sights to see island-wide - from historical ruins to modern attractions. Queen Victoria loved the island and spent long periods of time at her beloved Osborne House. You can now visit her own private beach and step inside her bathing machine! 

There are also many areas of outstanding natural beauty to visit such as Compton Bay. With some great attractions such as Robin Hill Adventure Park & Gardens, East Dene Centre, Isle of Wight Zoo and The Needles Park to entertain both children and adults, there's plenty to do here that covers pretty much every subject you can think of!

Sea View Yacht Club

The SVYC Academy trains about 500 Members of Sea View Yacht Club every year, and has done for the past 20 years, year in a wide variety of Sailing and Sailing Related activities! We cater for adults or children, and we are here for you so if the advertised dates don’t work for you please talk to us, we are very flexible and are happy to make bespoke courses for you.

Appuldurcombe House

The shell of Appuldurcombe, once the grandest house on the Isle of Wight and still an important example of English baroque Architecture stands in 'Capability' Brown-designed grounds.

An exhibition of photographs and prints depict the house and its history.

Yarmouth Castle

Yarmouth Castle, Isle of Wight provides a magnificent picnic spot, with views over the Solent for a lovely relaxing family day by the sea. Step inside and discover the atmospheric recreation of how the rooms were used in the 16th century, and see the exhibition about the many wrecks which occurred in the treacherous stretch of sea which the castle overlooks.

Bembridge Fort

A Victorian fort gradually being restored

In a commanding position on top of Bembridge Down, Isle of Wight, this derelict Victorian fort is now open for volunteer-run guided tours.

Guided tours are available every Tuesday from April to October. Additional weekday tours for groups of 10 plus may be possible on request.

The Needles Park

As soon as you think about the Isle of Wight, the iconic image of the world famous Needles Park chairlift immediately springs to mind, transporting guests from the cliff-top above Alum Bay down to the beach below. So, grab a bird’s eye view of the multi-coloured sand cliffs of Alum Bay and the stunning turquoise waters that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Bembridge and Culver Downs

Dramatic chalk cliffs with acres of open downland and coastal views

Bembridge and Culver Downs form a dramatic promontory at the east end of the Isle of Wight. The cliffs are part of the same chalk ridge that forms the Needles and cliffs of Tennyson Down in the west. Feel the wind in your hair and admire the views over Sandown Bay and the Solent from this high point perched on top of the cliffs.

Kingswood Isle of Wight

Osborne House

"It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot" - such were the words of Queen Victoria after her first visit to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.

No trip to the island would be complete without a visit to this royal seaside palace where Queen Victoria lived with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children.

St Catherine's Oratory

A tall medieval octagonal tower, allegedly a lighthouse, built here in 1328 as penance for stealing church property from a wrecked ship. Affectionately known as the Pepperpot, it stands on one of the highest parts of the Isle of Wight. It is part of the Tennyson Heritage Coast, a series of linked cliff-top monuments. A later lighthouse can be seen nearby.

Newtown Old Town Hall

17th-century town hall with no town but a fascinating history

Tucked away in a tiny hamlet adjoining the National Nature Reserve, the 17th-century Old Town Hall is the only remaining evidence of Newtown's former importance.

It's hard to believe that this tranquil corner of the island once held often turbulent elections before sending two Members to Parliament.

Medina Valley Centre

The origins of the Centre date back to 1963 when this beautiful site on the banks of the Medina Estuary was identified as a great place to set up a sailing school, by a group of Christians from a variety of church backgrounds.

Little Canada (PGL)

At our PGL centre, as well as recently constructed accommodation, dining room and indoor activity zone, there are more than 20 activities all situated on site. Marchants is also the only centre to have the awesome new Powerfan freefall activity!
