Berkshire East

Berkshire East

Berkshire East is an area just outside the metropolis of London but within easy reach that offers a wide variety of opportunities for school trips.

Its principal town, Slough, might not be the most solubrious name amongst English towns, but the area within its compass includes stately homes, wonderful museums, sporting venues and the river Thames. Not to mention the cradle of modern law; Runnymede, the site of the signing of the Magna Carta.

For over 25 years Slough Museum has been dedicated to documenting, preserving and sharing the local heritage and history, explaining how Slough transformed from a muddy bog to a thriving town of industry and innovation. The area has a diverse landscape and you can go from the bustling streets of the town centre to the tranquil settings of Cliveden National Trust property or to revel in Britain's incredible rowing history at the National Rowing Museum (pictured).

If you are looking for activities to keep your students engaged then Berkshire East has plenty to offer from ten-pin bowling alleys to indoor play centres and even a racing simulator.
