The Kepplewray Centre occupies a large Victorian mansion set in its own grounds situated in the south of the Lake District National Park. We provide accommodation for those wanting to enjoy the spectacular scenery on our doorstep and also offer an extensive range of outdoor activities led by our enthusiastic instructors.

Lancaster is a compact city bursting with attractions. Lancaster City Museum offers an insight into local history including a tombstone dating back 100AD. The area is close to the River Lune where you can take tours or learn about the maritime history at the local museum. There are also many green spaces and farms to keep you entertained.
The area also includes the southern reaches of the Lake District, featuring many beautiful valleys which inspired the poet Wordsworth and houses, including the home of children's author Beatrix Potter.

The 14th-century tower known as Dalton Castle was formerly the manorial courthouse of Furness Abbey. Here the abbott exercised his right to hold manorial courts and administer justice within the lordship of Furness, as authorised by the abbey's foundation charter of 1127.

At five miles long, and with a maximum depth of 184 feet, Coniston Water is the third largest of the lakes. It provided an important fish source for the monks of Furness Abbey who owned the lake and much of the surrounding land in the 13th and 14th Centuries.

The Raymond Priestley Centre is beautifully located on the western shore of Coniston Water. Operated by the University of Birmingham it provides bespoke residential courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

We are a residential outdoor education centre on the shore of Coniston Water in the Lake District.
This remote and dramatically-sited fort was founded under Hadrian's rule in the 2nd century.
Well-marked remains include the headquarters building, commandant's house and bath house. The site of the parade ground survives beside the fort, and the road which Hardknott guarded can be traced for some distance as an earthwork.
