Preston

Preston boasts a very varied landscape from the miles of footpaths and bridle ways to the marina Preston has a lot to offer. There are a total of six museums in the area offering everything from science and nature to literature and arts.

Preston is home to the Lancashire Archives and Preston North End Football Club, the first league champions of the Football League. Outside their stadium stands a wonderful statue of the great PNE winger Tom Finney splashing his way down the wing.

Bowland Wild Boar Park

See and feed our wildlife which includes Deer, Llamas, Goats. We have lots for kids to do including pedal tractor area, tractor rides, play area, lamb Llama and deer feeding (when available).

Schools

We have our own education centre where the pupils can gain valuable practical experience of animals in a natural setting.

Astley Hall is a museum and art gallery housed within a Grade I listed historic house. The Hall is set within the beautiful surroundings of Astley Park which include historic woodland, a lake, a fully renovated Victorian walled garden alongside clean and modern facilities for visitors to enjoy.

Winmarleigh Hall

Built around the original main house, Winmarleigh was formerly a traditional Victorian estate. The building retains many original features and its large rooms and sturdy construction make it ideal for groups of children. It has been in use as an Adventure Centre since 1998 and is a fantastic addition to PGL’s existing centres.

West View Climbing and Leisure Centre

Group climbing sessions are for young people, adults, families, school and youth groups. They are an ideal way to introduce people to the sport of climbing.

Sessions can be tailored around the groups individual needs and block bookings are also welcome if your group wishes to learn how to climb.

The Anderton Centre

The Anderton Centre is situated on the shores of the beautiful Rivington Reservoir in the West Pennine Moors in Lancashire, close to Chorley, Bolton, Manchester and Preston. The centre boasts superb water facilities and an idyllic rural setting which is conveniently located close to the M6 and M61 corridors.

Hothersall Lodge Field Study Centre

Hothersall Lodge is situated in a secluded and picturesque corner of the beautiful Ribble Valley. It occupies a secure 7 acre south facing site, which has its own canoe lake and gives a sheltered, sunny aspect to this lovely location. Residential stays are possible with 80 beds and a campsite available.

Bank Hall

Bank Hall is not one of the most well known buildings  in the country, but it is one of the most beautiful and interesting. Its location could be passed every day without realising its existence as the lofty chimneys and the remnants of the clock tower only faintly glimpse over the tree tops.

Brockholes Nature Reserve

Brockholes Nature Reserve offers a unique outdoor learning opportunity. Once an active quarry site, Brockholes has been transformed into a nature reserve with a variety of habitats including wetlands, woodlands and meadows.

Waterside Lodge

Waterside Lodge is a modern, purpose built two-story Activity Centre on the Marine Lake, in Southport, Merseyside. The building has all modern services installed and is accessible to disabled users. It is easily reached on Southport Marine Drive, adjacent to the pier and beach.

There are two kitchens, each equipped to commercial standards, for 100 people.

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
