One of England's most beautiful counties, with many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in to take wonderful walks in the countryside or even view from the Severn Valley Railway. The West Midlands Safari Park boasts countless animals to learn about on one of their wonderful workshops and a theme park with plenty of rides, while the Almonry Museum in Evesham allows students to understand what the life of a Benedictine Monk would have been like.
Worcestershire offers superb historic houses such as Hanbury Hall, Witley Court, Spetchley Park (above) and Boscobel House, where King Charles hid in an oak tree in roder to evade capture after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. While other history and heritage opportunities allow students to see the National Collection of Buildings at the Avoncroft Museum in Bromsgrove and also composer Edward Elgar's birthplace.
Malvern became a popular destination when it first originated as a spa town. Therapeutic qualities were attributed to the springs and people would come from miles around to visit. The area still draws in many visitors today. The Malvern hills boast routes for all levels of walkers as well as stunning views of the local area.
