Dudley is at the heart of the Black Country. You can visit the Black Country Living Museum to discover more about the area's rich history. There are many other attractions to visit such as Dudley Zoo and the castle (above) or the canal tunnels. The area's industrial heritage presents various opportunities for trips and learning, such as the Kidderminster Railway Museum or the Carpet Museum.

Harvington Hall and Himley Hall are two of the many stately homes in the area, while scientists and nature lovers will want to enjoy the West Midlands Safari Park, with its in-vehicle safari tour and meet the animals sessions. Plus it has a theme park with plenty of rides. Speaking of rides, the steam trains of the Severn Valley Railway are always great and many informative workshops are given, including one on being an evacuee in the Second World War.

There are also some great Leisure Centres in the area to take students swimming. There is also plenty to do on the physical activity front in the outdoors.
