Landscape: Generally flat, with the Kalahari Desert forming the majority of the country alongside the Okavango Delta, salt pans and rolling plains. 

Climate/Seasons: The winter months of May - August have clear and warm days with cooler nights, while the summer period running from October - April has much higher temperatures and humidity with frequent rainfall. 

When to Go: Although it will be the busiest time, June - August has the best weather and the most reliable sightings of wildlife.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
