Ties to the UK?: England has had relations with Morocco ever since the time of King John when in the early 13th Century he tried to persuade Morocco to side with him against France. This relationship developed through the Barbary Company's trading links, which led Elizabeth I to place a permanent Minister in Residence in Morocco in the late 16th Century, with an equivalent residing in London on behalf of monarch Ahmad al-Mansur. This led to the 1728 treaty ensuring safe conduct for English nationals and the countries have remained close ever since.

Climate/Seasons: Climates range from warm and humid which keep the forests lush to very hot and very dry in the Moroccan Sahara. The lowest temperature in Africa and the Arab world was recorded in Ifrane at −24 °C in 1935 

When to Go: Morocco is a country with a lot to offer, a city trip is probably going to be most enjoyable and hot during the summer although if you want to go hiking you may find the our winter period to be preferable with crisp sunny days and cold nights, it may be a little less overwhelming with a large group

How to Get There: Many of the big airlines have regular flights to Morocco, there's a big airport in Marrakech but also many more throughout the country

Watch Out For: Morocco has an extremely poor safety record on its roads. Be extra vigilant on both planning and during your trip. It is considered rude to show someone the bottom of your shoe, dress suitably if visiting Mosques, only drink bottled water (be careful of ice).

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
