Why Go?: The Comoros islands in the hot Indian Ocean are a remote yet fascinating destination  full of idyllic coral reefs, palm trees and sandy beaches - whilst quite an unconventional venue for a school trip, it will be fantastic fun and an opportunity to see geography up close and personal.

Landscape: Made up of three major islands and numerous smaller islets formed by volcanic activity, therefore making the land quite dry and rocky. There are some areas of rainforest throughout the islands with many mountains and volcanoes, with coral reefs found along the coast in some areas. 

Climate/Seasons: Hot all year-round, with cooler temperatures in the central mountainous areas of each island. The rainy season occurs between October - April but is heaviest after December.

When to Go: Between May - October is the best time to visit, as this avoids the heavy rainfall that Comoros gets in the wet season.

How to Get There: Air travel is the best way to get to Comoros, and there's a decent international airport near the capital city - you will have to take some connecting flights though!

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
