Situated in the heart of Essex the town boasts close proximity to many exciting attractions. There is a 15th Century cathedral as well as the Grade II listed building Hylands House that hosts many public events. Chelmsford also offers a free annual festival dedicated to international street theatre. There is also fun to be had at the local wildlife park, at the cricket ground (the home of Essex County Cricket Club) and at the V Festival.

As one of the best family attractions in Essex there’s so much to do here at Barleylands Farm Park, Billericay whatever the weather. We’ve farmyard friends with daily animal activities including lamb bottle feeding, a huge Reptile House and awesome birds of prey. Blake House Craft Centre

The East Coast Sail Trust, as a non profit-making charity, runs cruises for young people, some of whom are disadvantaged and typically we operate through contacts with schools nationwide.  

Essex Wildlife Trust Hanningfield Reservoir Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve

Providing panoramic views over the 870 acre reservoir. The visitor centre is set in mature woodland and has proved a popular bat roost, with a beautiful carpet of Bluebells in the spring.

Bishop's Stortford Museum

The Bishop’s Stortford Museum is housed in the original Victorian building which was the birthplace of Cecil Rhodes (1853 – 1902), financier and founder of diamond company De Beers. The museum is a local landmark and receives vistiors from all over the world many of whom come to see the unique collection of artefacts about Rhodes and his life.

Outspark

The company was formed to allow the expedition programme organised by Jason Buckley, an teacher at Sutton Grammar School, to continue after he left the school. Three members of the instructor team are old boys of the school who have come through the expedition programme, which has expanded to include 230 boys this year.

Brentwood Cathedral

The Cathedral Church of St Mary and St Helen lies in the town of Brentwood in the county of Essex. Since 1998 the Cathedral has been linked with the parish of Holy Cross & All Saints, Warley with priests from the Cathedral serving both parishes.

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
